About Me
Hello, dear reader & welcome! I am an art historian, curator, writer, photographer, and yoga instructor living in New York City. I hope you’ll visit my other pages for more on each of these in their individual incarnations. I spent years and years in museum education working at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, and the Morgan Library & Museum. I currently teach university courses on art and design history at Parson’s School of Design and the New York School of Interior Design. I have also taught at Sotheby’s Institute of Art and Pratt Institute. Funnily enough, I find myself back at Pratt, but this time as a student working on my second master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS).
My most treasured moments of my career are the eight years I worked at the Morgan Library & Museum. I ran the Morgan Book Project, an annual extended learning program for approximately 1000 students in grades 3-12 across all five boroughs of NYC. This program teaches how to create unique contemporary illuminated manuscripts using the Morgan's collection as inspiration. I am very proud to have overseen such a beloved program and contributed to its success. I was in a spot on NY1 in 2021, and you can still catch me in some short videos on the Morgan's Instagram.
As difficult as it was to leave my Morgan family, I couldn't have imagined how much I would love the MLIS program and what opportunities would come my way, including an artist archives study trip to Italy! The program also allowed me to rediscover my creative practice, and you might find me sketching, painting, or of course snapping photos.
So, here I am, busy curating new adventures. I hope you’ll take a moment to read a snippet or two, click through some photographs, or take a deep restorative breath.
